Core Vision

TO RESTORE, BRIDGE, ENCOURAGE & EMPOWER

to restore

When emergency situations arise - for example after a natural hazard or a humanitarian disaster - we first of all long to restore life's circumstances and bring them back to a level which allows continuation of life in dignity, as it was before the hardship.

to bridge

Sometimes it is foreseeable that conditions worsen. During these difficult times we aim to bridge and stand behind our friends as much as possible, in order for them to endure the situation. This can be in areas such as: humanitarian, materially, structurally, spiritually, socially, psychologically, etc.

to encourage

As a matter of fact, it is always very difficult to be there at the right time and to be able to do the right thing. Therefore, sometimes the only thing we may be able to do is to encourage. This simple word may turn out to be the most important assistance we can provide, because it comes out of the mutual relationship. With our friends we share their sorrows, simply standing at their side during the trouble, we are aware of the hardship and care for the people we are connected with. It's not about actions and it's not about words – it's about commitment.

to empower

But the main focus behind everything is that we want to empower our partners in their environment, so that they can discover their own possibilities and resources to find their own solutions for any obstacle they may face. The solutions they find on their own are the ones that enable long-term improvements. This then provides the basis for the strengthening and development of a self-responsible civil society. This in turn is the basis for democracy, liberty of opinion, equality, and emancipation of human beings, in order that they may develop their full potential. It is our duty to assist our partners as they find their own way.
