We do not want to remain passive in the face of the world’s challenges but instead we want to help. Therefore, a group of committed people started to search for ways they could best respond to needs they encountered on their travels. It started small but grew quickly, maybe because the group preferred exploring areas that were still untouched by the tourism industry. As a result, the number of connections to people in remote places grew. The focus on tourism was more and more replaced by relationships to the people we visited, who allowed us to really see and experience their needs in their environments. Motivated by the desire to respond to the challenges we have seen, we started to search for ways to do this. Early in 2006 we decided to establish an organization and took the necessary steps for this vision to be realized. The Board, the staff, our volunteers, and all affiliates are committed to the one goal – Together we can make a difference.
